David Ogilvy, the Father of Advertising, once said “If it doesn’t sell, it isn’t creative.”

Does this mean that you have to “sell out” to succeed? Not really. But it does mean that if you want to be successful you have to sell yourself, or at least sell your message.

You have to reach your audience and you have to get them to at least look at your message.

Otherwise, you’re just working along, all by yourself and no one cares. That may be how you like it. Perfect! But I hope you have a day job to pay the rent. Because if you fall into this category, you will never make a living.

It’s a fact of life that artists, bakers, mechanics, hairdressers, - have to reach their audience and sell their goods.

So if you’re an artist, baker, mechanic or hairdresser I have one question for ya… What’s your message?

Are you telling your story creatively?

Are you selling yourself creatively?

Is anyone listening?
